Weather and Gear

October in the Jemez Mountains can mean any weather. PTF typically lucks out with gorgeous weather (blue skies but not too hot!), but there have been years with cold, snow, rain, gloom, rainbows, etc.

It is the responsibility of the runner (yes, you) to be prepared and bring the gear and layers that you might need. Recommended: rain jacket/shell, warmer layers, gloves/mittens, hat/ear coverings.

Cups and Earbuds (aka Being Responsible)

PTF is a cupless race, meaning that every runner is responsible for bringing water bottles/flasks/bladders that they can refill as needed.

Because PTF is a trail race, we can assume that the course will be shared with wildlife, other trail users, and trees that will fall over at some point. For these reasons, we ask that runners do not run with earbuds/earphones. Let us be aware and have our wits about us.

Giving Back to the Community

A portion of all entry fees will be donated to two local organizations: Southwest Nordic Ski Club and Pajarito Environmental Education Center.

No Whining

Need we say more?

Unless you mean "wine". In which case, the race directors love wine.
